You can use I MEAN when you want to repeat an idea or say more about something.
Example:
A. Where do you go? I mean, do you go somewhere nice?
B. Do you know Mart's? It's OK. I mean, the food's good,...
A. Do you ever go out after class?
B. Well, not very often. I mean, I usually go straight home.
In conversation, I MEAN is one of the top 15 expressions.
